Showcase Your Make-up Effects Skills on a New Show

The Syfy series Face Off is casting for special make-up effects artists to participate in a make-up reality show expected to air in 2011. Face Off is a competition series exploring the special make-up effects industry. Participants are expected to have experience with prosthetics, 3-D design, animatronics, sculpting, eye enhancers, puppeteering, casting and molding. In each episode, the competitors’ finished work will be revealed and one contestant will be sent home by the panel of experts and celebrity judges. The grand-prize winner will receive $100,000.

Potential participants must be 18 years or older. Auditions will be held 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 11 at Orlando’s International Palms Resort and Conference Center (6515 International Drive Orlando, Florida). Potential participants who cannot attend the auditions may submit short videotaped auditions in which they describe their backgrounds and create a special-effects character on themselves in 30 minutes or less. Deadline for video submissions is Sept. 15. They may be sent via yousendit.com or posted on YouTube.
