Make-Up Artist magazine has chosen themes for the 2010 International Make-Up Artist Trade Show (IMATS) student competitions. The Beauty/Fantasy theme will be Alice in Wonderland; the Character/Prosthetic theme is Grimm's Fairy Tales. Entry forms and deadlines, competition rules and more information will be posted soon on our trade show Web site: www.imats.net.

Each show has its own tab on the site: As complete information becomes available and site renovation is completed, details will be posted. First-time competitors who would like an idea of how the competition works can visit 2009 show pages at www.makeupmag.com/imats/. From a make-up perspective, the first major character to appear in Hellboy 2 is a younger version of the hero, seen in a 1955 prologue with Professor Broom (John Hurt). The Young Hellboy character was created by the Barcelona-based company DDT Efectos Especiales and played in a gender-bending twist by the company’s Montse Ribé.
