Make-up brush manufacturer Anisa International Inc. wants to see your brush design. The company is hosting the Sustainable Cosmetic Brush Design Contest, which is open to anyone with a design concept for a cosmetic brush made with sustainable materials. The winner receives $2,500, international recognition and a trip to New York City for an unveiling of the brush during the HBA trade show in New York City in September. The winner may also see his or her brush manufactured. "I believe that this is an opportunity for lay designers, inventors and really anyone with an idea to produce some cutting-edge cosmetic tools that they would like to see in the market," said Anisa Telwar, the president of Anisa International, Inc., in a prepared statement. Applicants are required to submit drawings and/or a product prototype to be judged on the following criteria: use of sustainable materials, innovation/originality, design aesthetics, marketability, cost to produce and the overall product life cycle. The contest closes on Aug. 15, and the winner will be notified Aug. 30. Terms and conditions are available at www.anisa.com. |

Web Exclusive: Hellboy 2: The Golden Army, Young Hellboy - Monday August 04, 2008 |
| From a make-up perspective, the first major character to appear in Hellboy 2 is
a younger version of the hero, seen in a 1955 prologue with Professor
Broom (John Hurt). The Young Hellboy character was created by the
Barcelona-based company DDT Efectos Especiales and played in a
gender-bending twist by the company’s Montse Ribé. |
