2012 BAFTA Nominees for Make Up & Hair Award Announced

The British Academy of Film and Television has announced the nominations for the 2012 Orange British Academy Film Awards Make Up & Hair category. BAFTA winners will be announced Feb. 12 at London’s Royal Opera House. 

Artists from three of the nominated films will attend the International Make-Up Artist Trade Show in London, held Feb. 4-5. Visit www.imats.net for more information.

From a make-up perspective, the first major character to appear in Hellboy 2 is a younger version of the hero, seen in a 1955 prologue with Professor Broom (John Hurt). The Young Hellboy character was created by the Barcelona-based company DDT Efectos Especiales and played in a gender-bending twist by the company’s Montse Ribé.
